Historically seen as the "Gateway to the Highlands" (which indeed take up most of the landscape view in the area). There's a great little cafe just off the main shopping street which serves some stunning breakfast. Then again, after a nighttrain, some initial panic and running back to the departing train to grab my return ticket, about 2 hours walking around the town at 6AM waiting for SOMETHING to open and meeting an astounding amount of drunks along the way, I'm sure we would've eaten anything. Wallace Memorial is home to a man who is William Wallace in the daytime and (probably) a short Scottish man in the nighttime. Also includes a nice uphill walk through a forest completely covered in moss. |
